What drew you to the North Fulton area to live and work?
My wife and I bought our first home in the North Fulton area in the mid ’90s and started a family a few years later. We were drawn to the sense of community, great schools and parks. When it came to opening a business, I’ve had the entrepreneur spirit my entire life so I looked for something of my own. I always enjoyed taking care of my own vehicles and decided to share my passion for a really clean car with others. So when the opportunity to renovate a small gas station on Alpharetta Highway became available, I knew the time was right. Now, 20 years and two car washes later, I know the decision was the right one.

You’ve since grown to a second location. To what do you attribute your success?
The philosophy of treating customers the way I would want to be treated is truly the cornerstone of our business. We always do our best to make everything right. A happy customer always returns. My employees are a huge part of the success of our company. Over the years we’ve created a culture of doing the right thing, so no cutting corners. Our work ethic has paid off and we now have a second, larger car wash right down the street. Because each car wash is on a separate main road the car washes actually complement each other. We even created an app so you can see the wait times at each place!

Downtown Alpharetta has changed a lot in 20 years. What are your thoughts on the changes?
The impact made by the city of Alpharetta in designing a work, shop and play community has been incredible. There is a noticeable difference in development across the board. Alpharetta is an amazing place to live, but it is also an amazing place to visit for shopping, entertainment, and get a great meal at one of the many restaurants making their debut right here in the area. I couldn't be more thankful to be in such a great town and am really proud to be a small part of so much growth and success.

How important is being part of the community to you and your business?
Mammoth prides itself in being not only a leader in hand car wash and detailing in Alpharetta, but also in being a community partner. We believe our presence here in Alpharetta is directly tied to the people who live here and use our services. So we want to help them succeed by supporting local schools, special organizations and sports teams. And, on a personal level, we frequently support other local businesses, restaurants and retail stores in the area. It’s really nice to have great business neighbors and friends after so many years.

In your free time, where will we most likely find you?
That’s an easy question! You will most likely find me running some beautiful trails, obstacle course racing, or traveling with my family to some exotic place. My wife works for an airline so we do our best to take advantage of the travel benefits. ■
