Designing Dreams to announce winner of room makeover

The nonprofit organization Designing Dreams will announce the winner of a charitable $20,000 room makeover Thursday, Sept. 27, during a reception and fundraiser open to the public.
The event, sponsored in part by Northside Woman, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the RBM-North Mercedes-Benz showroom at 345 McFarland Parkway in Alpharetta. Guests can purchase raffle tickets to win a four-night, all-inclusive stay at Villas Sol Hotel & Beach Resort in Costa Rica. The evening will also feature hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine, soft drinks and dozens of silent auction items donated by local businesses. All proceeds go toward the 2012 room makeover.

Community members can nominate someone for the makeover by writing a 200-word essay. Once someone is chosen, the design team at Allison Havill Todd Interiors and local and national vendors create, plan and execute a complete room makeover from floor to ceiling. This includes paint, floor coverings, lighting, upholstered furniture, case goods, window treatments and accessories, according to Havill Todd.
